Escape to Tuscany: Turning Elite Tourism
into a Lifestyle Choice
September 18, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
BAIA
The Bay Area features a tradition of innovation and economic growth, coupled with a vibrant culture that is open and that values leisure. This business and cultural paradigm has fueled a quest to integrate destinations into our lifestyle. The hotel is no longer adequate: you no longer visit a place; you live it… for a while.
Italy is emerging as the destination of choice for this type of experience, given its multiple appeals both as a destination and a lifestyle choice.
BAIA will host a feature presentation from Keith Cox, Managing Partner of Resort Equities, a boutique, shared ownership organization based in San Jose with residences in Tahoe, Maui, San Francisco and Italy. Mr. Cox will discuss these themes and will illustrate to us the model that his company is pursuing in Italy, Bella Villa Collezione.
Questions addressed will include:
  • Why Italy and why Tuscany?
  • What if you could own a luxurious Tuscan estate, but pay for only the time you live there each year?
  • What new fractional ownership models to accommodate this special form of escapism have emerged?
  • What is the future outlook for the travel and lifestyle industry?
  • Finally, in an age of globalization, is Italy destined to become a “Florida of the world”, and bet its future economic growth on what may be its greatest comparative advantages – Italian lifestyle, culture, food, climate and geography?
  • Location and Time
