BAIAbase is a web-based, public, open, editable database of companies that have a direct Italy-USA business connection. BAIA is a service designed and built by BAIA, Business Association Italy America. You can find an overview presentation of BAIAbase Beta here.
You can find companies that have a strong business relationships between USA and Italy. For example, you can find Italian subsidiaries of American companies (and viceversa) or US-based companies with large Italian ownership or companies that provide products and services that facilitate the business activity between Italy and the US.
Go to the BAIAbase homepage and insert a keyword in the search box. You can also use the Advanced Search, by clicking on the “Search” tab. By using Advanced Search you can search based on specific criteria such as country, category, and type of activity of the company.
Anyone can add, change or edit a company record on BAIAbase. Much like Wikipedia, BAIAbase is maintained by its users. In order to ensure basic quality of the data, BAIAbase is moderated and every change to the database must be approved by BAIA staff before it becomes public and visible.
BAIA is not “responsible” to maintain accurate data in BAIAbase. Anyone can correct a factual error by submitting a change of a company record. Much like Wikipedia, BAIAbase is maintained by its users. BAIA staff simply moderates and approves every change before it becomes public and visible.
Yes. Anyone can add a company to BAIAbase. All you need to do is go to the BAIA homepage and click on the “Add Company” tab. However, before you do so, we recommend that you first search for the company, as it may already be in the database.
Yes. Anyone can modify a company record on BAIAbase. All you need to do is go to the company page and clik on the “Edit” button on the top bar.
No. Only BAIA can inactivate or delete a company entry from BAIAbase.

Each new company record on BAIAbase, as well as any change to existing companies, but be approved by BAIA before they become visible and appear in the search engine results. Changes are usually reviewed within 24-48 hours.
The companies in BAIAbase must meet certain minimum criteria in order to be listed in the database. In addition, to maintain BAIAbase quality standards, BAIA checks basic publicly available information before approving a new company.

Yes. Anyone can use BAIAbase for free.
BAIAbase has been mostly built by volunteers who donated hundreds of hours of work, but to continue to operate, BAIAbase needs financial support from sponsors and members. You can support BAIAbase by donating to BAIAbase or becoming a supporter of BAIA.
