BAIA Trainee Internships

Building on the success of its first year, BAIA is launching the second year of its internship program. We are currently seeking four (4) responsible, motivated, proactive volunteer trainees to assist with a series of critical projects.

This is a great opportunity for Italian students or recent graduates who wish to gain significant work/life experience in the Bay Area.

If you are passionate about learning from established professionals in the Bay Area and are a self-starter with a “can-do” attitude, this internship is for you. It will give you insights into the American way of doing business and exposure to a cohesive community of Italian and American professionals and companies.

Position #1 – BAIA Web Assistant Design Developer

Scope

• Collaborate on the development of an online platform of Italian companies in the US.
• Collaborate on the development of BAIA on-line job marketplace
• Perform some administrative tasks and projects as required
• Execute a relevant project proposed by you

Position #2 – BAIA Events Assistant Organizer/Promoter

Scope

• Assist with the scheduling and planning of monthly events
• Assist with the logistics during all BAIA events
• Perform some administrative tasks and projects as required
• Execute a relevant project proposed by you

Position #3 BAIA Membership & Community Assistant

Scope

• Assist with the management of BAIA membership
• Execute a plan of community engagement
• Perform some administrative tasks and projects as required
• Execute a relevant project proposed by you

Position #4 BAIA Marketing & Communications Assistant

Scope

• Blogging and reporting on all BAIA events
• Maintain and enrich website and other online tools
• Perform some administrative tasks and projects as required
• Execute a relevant project proposed by you

Requirements

• Must be fluent in Italian and English, both verbal and written
• A track record of academic achievement and a desire to work and learn in a creative and changing environment
• Organizational skills and good time management skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office Suite) is a must. Familiarity with social media required. Video-editing a plus.
• Position #1: must have a strong IT/engineering background, with a working knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
• Position #2,3 and 4: must have a strong marketing background

Internship Details

• This is an unpaid trainee internship; however, BAIA can offer a sponsorship to cover travel expenses to and from San Francisco.
• Precedence will be given to local candidates
• No less than 25 hours/week
• BAIA can accommodate a flexible schedule depending on specific needs
• Minimum duration: 12 week program. Up to 24 weeks, depending on Visa availability/requirements
• Location: BAIA co-working space in downtown San Francisco or own home office
